| History of the Maroa Fire Department |
Sun. Jul 25th 2010
In the early 2000's, the Maroa Fire Department moved from their original location on Walnut Street right by Main street to the corner of Chesnut and Washington Streets. The original firehouse was a two bay house that had an office, a kitchen and a meeting room. That firehouse could hold four trucks. The fire department purchased the current lot from the City of Maroa and began building a new firehouse in the late 1990s. The current fire house is a four bay with two drive thru bays. The current firehouse has three offices, a big meeting room and a kitchen for the annual Pancake and Sausage Breakfast the Maroa Fire Department holds each year.
