| 1st Alarm on School Road |

At 9:45 pm, the Maroa Fire Department was paged out for a 1st Alarm on School Road. The house had been struck by lightning. Maroa 19 responded with 6, Maroa 20 responded with 4, Maroa 15 responded with 1 and Maroa 18 responded with 2 for a total of 13 on scene. With 1st Alarm, Argenta-Oreana Fire, Hickory Point Fire, Kenney Fire and Clinton Fire were also dispatched to the scene. Upon arrival, Maroa command saw light smoke coming from the residence. The fire was in the attic and also contained to only the attic. Argenta-Oreana started to ventilate the roof while Maroa crews worked inside the attic attacking the fire. All departments worked side by side to contain and extinguish the fire. All units were cleared and back in service by 1:30 am.
